Popular Hikes in Zion National Park:

On this page I will provide some external links to descriptions of some of the more popular hiking trails in Zion National Park. You can click on the trail title to link to additional information provided by other sites.

Canyon Overlook Trail: This trail is a short easy hike with some great views. Coming from the East Entrance the trailhead is located just before you enter the 1.1-mile Zion Mt Carmel tunnel.

Angels landing: Angels landing is one of the classic hikes in Zion National Park. This is a difficult steep hike and can be very difficult in the heat of the day with a lot of sun exposure. If you do not like heights you may want to consider a different hike. Angles landing is famous for its exposure to steep drop-offs and cliffs. This hike is very popular. I recommend starting this hike early to try to get there before the large crowds.

The Zion Narrows: The Narrows can be reached for a day hike from the Temple of Sinawava, the last stop going up Zion Canyon. This is another very popular hike. Be prepared to get wet which can feel great on a hot summer day. Always check the weather before entering the Narrows. Flashfloods can be deadly. I recommend checking at the visitor’s center prior to going into the Narrows. Bring shoes that can get wet. Plan on getting wet at least up to the waist with a chance of getting completely wet. I also recommend neoprene socks with water shoes.

Emerald Pools Trail: Emerald Pools is another classic Zion trail. This trail is rated easy and a great option for a shorter hike with some shade and more great views.

Hidden Canyon Trail: Hidden Canyon trail is a moderately difficult trail accessible from Weeping Rock trailhead.
